Showers of Blessings Academy started on 11th May, 2009 to meet the need of Orphans, poor and needy children who cannot access quality education via the more expensive schools in Watamu.
Before the start of the school Mr. Sammy (Samuel Ngumbao) who is the founder of the project was heading a neighbouring school (Sonnet) in Watamu for a period of a five (5) good years.
During his time in the former school, the school used to excel in Academic not only in county exams but National exams too. After he left the said school, most pupils and parents urged him to start the project the could help the orphans, poor and the needy children of the community of Watamu as most of them had dropped out of school and others had joined public schools which are most congested interms of population making teachers to have difficulties on managing them.
This is the major reason that led Mr. Sammy to open the school ( Showers of Blessibgs Academy.) as he bears the burden of renting houses as he has no funds to buy land and constructing classrooms. He has also hired teachers and pays them through small contributions of funds from parents in form of fee payments.
At presents the school has 260 pupils from 8 pupil at the beginning. It's important at this point for Showers Of Blessings Academy to have a Special attention to quality education and promotion of the dignity of every child with special emphasis of brightening the children future.
